Services

For Clients

When hiring a Professional

  • Read their profile carefully Review the Professional's Trust Score, past job reviews, and listed skills before hiring. A high Trust Score reflects real completed work — not self-reported claims.
  • Use escrow — always When prompted to secure a payment before work begins, do it. Escrow holds your money safely until you confirm the job is done. Never pay outside the platform.
  • Keep communication in-app Use Deux messaging for all job-related conversations. This creates a protected record of every agreement, making dispute resolution faster and fairer if anything goes wrong.
  • Secure your home and valuables Before a professional arrives, put away personal documents, keys, and valuables you don't want accessed. This is standard practice, not a sign of distrust.
  • Start small with new professionals If you're working with someone for the first time, consider a small task first. It's a low-risk way to evaluate their reliability before committing to larger work.

For Professionals

When accepting a service job

  • Confirm the full job scope Before accepting, make sure the tasks, location, timing, and payment are clearly agreed in writing via in-app chat. Vague agreements lead to disputes.
  • Wait for escrow before starting Do not start work until you see that escrow has been secured by the client. This guarantees your payment is held and will be released when the job is confirmed complete.
  • Stay on in-app messaging Keep all communication inside Deux. This protects you legally — your in-app conversation is your evidence if a dispute arises.
  • Never accept cash advances Decline requests to pay for materials or supplies upfront in cash. If a job genuinely requires materials, discuss it through the platform and have the arrangement documented.
  • Trust your instincts If a job, location, or client feels wrong — decline. You are never obligated to proceed. Report unsafe situations using the in-app report button. Your report is confidential.
  • Share your location with someone Before going to a job, tell a trusted person the address and your expected finish time. A simple, fast safety habit.

Goods Marketplace

For Buyers

When purchasing goods

  • Check the seller's Trust Score Every seller on the goods marketplace has a separate Trust Score built from fulfilled orders and buyer ratings. Higher scores mean more reliable delivery history.
  • All purchases use escrow Goods purchases are always escrow-protected. Your payment is held until you confirm receipt using your Deux Code. Never pay a seller directly or outside the platform.
  • Your Deux Code is your delivery key You receive a unique Deux Code for each order (letter + 4 digits, e.g. A1234; some older orders may still show 4–5 digits). Only share it with the seller when the physical goods are in your hands. Sharing it early is the same as accepting delivery — funds release immediately.
  • Report issues before releasing If goods arrive damaged, incomplete, or different from the listing — do not share your Deux Code. Raise a dispute through the app before releasing payment. Once your Deux Code is entered, the transaction is considered complete.

For Sellers

When selling goods

  • Confirm escrow before preparing Only prepare and dispatch goods after you see escrow is secured by the buyer. This guarantees your funds are held and waiting.
  • Enter the Deux Code at delivery Delivery is confirmed when you enter the buyer's Deux Code (e.g. A1234 on new orders). Do this only when goods have physically changed hands. Entering it triggers your payout.
  • List accurately Describe your goods honestly — condition, quantity, dimensions, and any defects. Misrepresentation leads to disputes, refunds, and Trust Score penalties.
  • Keep delivery records For high-value items, photograph the goods before handover and keep any tracking or delivery receipts. This protects you if a buyer raises a dispute after receiving goods.

How Deux Protects You

Escrow Protection

For both services and goods, Deux holds payment in escrow before work begins or goods are dispatched. Funds are released only after delivery is confirmed. Neither party can access the money until the job or order is complete — or a dispute is resolved.

In-App Communication

All job and order conversations should happen inside Deux. This gives both parties a verifiable, timestamped record of every agreement. Our systems also protect you by monitoring for attempts to move transactions off-platform before payment is secured.

Trust Score

Every Professional and seller has a Trust Score (0–100) built from real completed transactions, client ratings, and reliability history. The 'Verified' badge means they have maintained a high score over many jobs or orders — not that Deux has run a background check. Use it as one signal, alongside reviews and your own judgment.

Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong and both parties can't resolve it, Deux admins can review the in-app record and make a final determination on how escrowed funds are distributed. Disputes must be raised before the job is confirmed complete or the Deux Code is entered.

If Something Goes Wrong

Here's how to report issues quickly.

Clients

  • Poor performance or incomplete work: Leave an honest public review after the job. This informs the community and affects the professional's Trust Score.
  • Safety concerns or Terms violations: Use the "Report Profile" button on the professional's profile to notify our team immediately. Your report is private.
  • Payment or delivery dispute: If goods or services were not delivered as agreed, raise a dispute through the job or order screen before confirming completion.

Professionals & Sellers

  • Report a client or buyer: Go to your Job History or Order History and use the "Report" button next to the relevant transaction. Use this for safety incidents, harassment, or non-payment attempts. Fully confidential.
  • Dispute a payout or escrow: If you believe escrow was released incorrectly or a dispute was resolved unfairly, contact us at contact@getdeux.com with your transaction ID.

All Users

  • Flag a suspicious review: Use the "Flag Review" button next to any review you believe is fake, coerced, or violates our guidelines. Our team will investigate.
  • In an emergency: If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Do not wait to report within the app.
